Rayven Productions is a boutique graphic design and web development firm. Amy Gawronski is the principle designer and owner. The firm gets its name from the translation of her last name, which means "raven" in Polish.

Amy was born and raised in Detroit, and moved to New York when she was 17 years old to go to attend New York University. She remained in New York for nearly 10 years, working for several Internet design agencies during the height of The Boom. In 2001, she moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, for a much needed change of pace, where she built her design business. After nearly a year there, she met her husband, and moved to Northern California. She currently lives and works in Menlo Park. Amy also spent six months in St. Petersburg, Russia, as part of an intensive study program in Russian language, literature and history.

Amy's academic background is in History and Russian Studies. She graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997, and wrote her thesis on Stalin's influence over the Anglo-American alliance during World War II and the beginnings of the Cold War.

"I'm entirely self-taught when it comes to the web and all things computer. I find it easier to learn from books and through experience than it is to take a class. I started in print design, in 1996, working for a company called Wolff New Media that did guides to the Internet in book form. They had a companion Web site, and that was what I was really interested in. I pursued that avenue of design, because I got really excited about the prospect of this new medium. It had unlimited potential and nobody really knew that much about it. But now "new media" is just another form of "media," and people have integrated Web sites as part of their branding image. My philosophy is that the brand is golden and needs to be strong across all media: business cards, Web sites, marketing pieces, trade show booths, everything. If your brand is powerful, your company is powerful. I build powerful brands," says Gawronski, regarding her design philosophy and approach.

In her copious amounts of free time, Amy likes to read, cook, take pictures, and watch hockey (Let's Go Red Wings!). She has run six marathons, and hopes to someday qualify for Boston. She likes being outside and has travelled extensively through the United States and Europe. She has a little black and white cat. Rayven Productions developes all design and writes all code on Macs, with the help of Adobe software.
